I know we focus a lot on Birthday’s for kids as mom’s. But what about birthday’s for your adult friends?
Something to say “thinking of you” without going crazy overboard? I have a lot of amazing friends in my life, and I LOVE birthday’s.
For me coming up with something to give is always easy, something from the kitchen; a baked treat, vanilla sugar or maybe an ice cream cake, anything I know they love that I make.
Cookies are always a favorite and I love dressing them up in cute sweet mason jars (yes I love food in mason jars). And adult friends don’t always want a ton of treats so I love to make MINI cookies to go in pint sized jars!.
Any cookie recipe works, but I went with my Snickerdoodles, a cookie flavor almost everyone loves!
To make my cookies all the same size and to easily get out the dough, I ‘m a huge fan of using scoops! To get the right size for these smaller mason jars I use a #100 (aka 1 1/8 inch, or 2 teaspoon) scoop!
There were a few that still baked up too big, but my kids gladly ate those! I also made one SLIGHTLY smaller than the rest to fit in the VERY bottom of the jar.
For the tags I went with one of my favorite Cookie Monster quotes:
“Sometimes Me Think, ‘What is Friend?’ & then me say, ‘Friend is someone to share the last cookie with’ – Cookie Monster”
I mean, who doesn’t love Cookie Monster??? I’m a big Grover fan too!
Print off the front and back of the printable and cut out cookie monster. Then cut along the TOP HALF of the eye’s only, using the indent between each circle as your guide.
Be careful not to cut more than half way around. Because then we want to FOLD right at the eye line and the eye’s will then pop up!
From there you can either tape it to the top of the jar, or attach it with cute bakers twine, both work, both look cute. And deliver to your friends on their birthdays!

Oh my goodness Ashlee, I LOVE this idea. So simple, but sooo cute! I love how perfectly the cookies fit in the little jars and now I want snicker doodles!
Ashlee
awww thanks! It took testing out a few differnt scoop sizes to get them to fit right! My kids didn’t mind eating all the ones that were too big 😉
